Are you tired of losing your potential employees!? You don’t have to worry about it anymore, trust us! Retaining employees is not rocket science; you can satisfy your employees and keep them motivated by following a few recipes. Most hospitals/companies treat their customers like a king or a queen but fail to do the same with their employees. In fact, our employees are our first customers. But why don’t we treat them like our customers?! Well, the following are a few ways to satisfy your employees.
First and foremost try to find out each and everyone’s capabilities, do not force them to swim when they are not interested. They may be good at something else, find out what it is and make them do that, they would definitely enjoy doing what they love. Assign the right person for the right role as skills and knowledge differ from person to person.
Each employee has their own style of working; do not compare one person to another. Try avoiding strict monitoring and spying on employees. Try to guide them instead of finding a chance to complain, allow them to learn new things. Natural justice is most appreciable at workplaces, try not blindly believe the managers/HOD’s, give a chance to subordinates, listen to them before making judgments. Freedom at work is very important at a workplace, making them feel comfortable and confident.
Anyone would get bored with a routine job since there’s nothing new to learn. Employees eventually lose interest when they are bored at something. Develop growth opportunities for employees, this would help you to earn a loyal employee for long. Growth opportunities should include including financial, professional and personal. Once the employee is satisfied in all these above-mentioned aspects, they wouldn’t think about leaving the job.
Nothing can beat rewards & recognition, it uplifts the employee’s spirit and also helps to develop trust towards the manager/leader as their work is being noticed and appreciated. Even the best employee of your hospital cannot work efficiently when they are not motivated enough. This simple trick can work magic.
Finally, treat your employees with respect and kindness. Let all your employees know that they are being treated fairly, their abilities and achievements are valued equally. This would help them nurture a positive work environment in which employees are satisfied, motivated and loyal to perform their best, eventually increasing employee’s productivity.
